You can find the full release notes below, but first, here are a couple highlights of our new features:
Processing payroll can be a daunting task. Inputs change frequently and with little notice, and if something is missed it can have a significant impact on employee lives. Because of this, it has always been our goal to make the entry of payroll data as easy (and automated) as possible. This reduces the chance of manual error and increases the time available to audit for accuracy.
An invaluable feature to this end is the external import tool. It allows users to quickly and accurately import everything from hours to bonuses and commissions. The caveat of any import tool, is that the success of the import is dependent upon the format of the data being imported. Given that the data comes from a number of different sources, this means that users often have to convert the data to a particular format prior to importing, which takes time and re-introduces the possibility of manual error.
Introducing a new custom import tool! We now can configure custom import templates, greatly increasing the number of file formats acceptable for import. If you find you are spending a lot of time manipulating files for import (or if you didn't know it was possible to import entries to payroll), please contact your service team to discuss creating a custom import format.
Authorize for Punch with Ease
Being able to control where employees are allowed to punch from is a central component of any web-based timekeeping system. While we'd love to know with certainty that employees will abide by established rules, it is easiest for all involved to eliminate temptation by prohibiting punch from unauthorized locations. What this means, though, is that an admin user is charged with maintaining authorization of locations employees are allowed to punch from. If this is not done, an employee is left sitting at work unable to punch in or out for the day.
To help ensure this doesn't happen, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for admin users to authorize locations for punch. This can now be done directly from the punch page itself!
If a device is not authorized, users will clearly see so directly on the punch page. A button to Register Device will display, and admin users will be able to use this feature to register the device and/or IP address in order to quickly and easily authorize the location for punch.
We're excited to share that in the coming months our development team will be working torevamp the look and feel of eStratEx! You might recall seeing notes about page conversions in previous release notes. With this update, we will be continuing these conversions on the Myself and Team tabs, while also greatly improving the organization of and navigation through the system. We're looking forward to our next release and hope you are too. Stay tuned for updates in future releases!
