In order to split up an employee's pay between different departments, you can set up a GL allocation between the different departments.
In order to set this up, navigate to the employee's page. Click on the drop-down menu next to "Pay" and select the "GL Allocations" option.
Click on "Add +" in the right hand corner of the screen.
The company name and a list of departments will populate. You will choose the employee's department and it will appear on the list on the bottom of the page. You can then click on "Add +" again in order to add the employee's other department (or to add multiple departments).
Once you have the departments that you want on the list, in the "allocation" box you can put in the percentages that you would like the employee's salary to be broken into according to the department. All of the percentages added up have to equal 100%. You will be able to view the amount breakdown to the right of the allocation percentage that you entered.
If you enter the wrong information in or would like to delete one of the departments that you added, you can click on the garbage symbol that is on the right side of the amount column.
Once you have entered all of the information, you will click on the "save" button at the bottom of the screen.
